Part 4

Once ago in a town from Alabama named Livingston

a rumor was going around about the equality of people.

In this town, everyone was sad because of money.

No one thought that this was funny.

In Livingston, the leaves were turning red, and falling.

During this time, the whole town was bawling.

People took their anger out on blacks.

Africans didn't know all the facts.

They couldn't figure out why they were doing this.

Most Africans decided it would be best to show shyness.

No one was fighting for rights.

Most people just got into rough fights.

All that blacks wanted to do was make a living.

They mostly thought about giving.

Some whites were racist and liked segregation.

Few times blacks fought with confrontation.

People stood in their way.

But they showed that they were here to stay.

In this photo, I notice a sign that says colored on it. The object that is shown is the giant sign that says, "Colored waiting room". I can also see a building that the sign is pointing to. I think this image was made to show how unfairly African-Americans were treated, and disrespected. I think this image was made in the early years of the Great Depression. I can learn from this photo that people used to have very different opinions from those today. I wonder why people were treated different. I wonder how blacks reacted, mentally. I wonder who tried to change this.
